Archaeology for Everyone
Freshford Memorial Hall, 11:00am-3:00pm, The Heritage Services Department of Bath & North East Somerset Council, in conjunction with the Portable Antiquities Scheme and the Roman Baths, is holding an Archaeology for Everyone event in the Memorial Hall on Saturday 3 March. If people have found something whilst digging in the garden or out walking the dog they can bring it along for identification by an archaeologist. There will also be displays of objects already discovered and in the Roman Baths collection as well as activities for children and adults alike. Freshford Primary School is doing a ‘Let’s Imagine’ project this month and it is hoped that they will be able to put on a display of their work too.
Dinner and Auction of Promises
Freshford Memorial Hall, 7:30pm-12:00am, This year Freshford Pre-School and Freshford School PTA are holding a joint 'Auction of Promises'. We would like to encourage many people from the local community to come along and enjoy, what we hope, will be great evening with the added bonus of raising money for excellent causes. Tickets for the evening will cost £15 each for supper and your first drink and we aim to pull together another strong list of promises and items to bid for. The 2011 pre-school event proved great fun and whether you want to bid or not we will aim to ensure the evening is equally entertaining. We are now looking for pledges and promises from people. The growing list can be found at www.freshfordpreschool.co.uk/events-and-fundraising So whether you want to offer babysitting, gardening, your holiday home on French Riviera, a box of eggs, fitness sessions, DIY help or professional consultations, no offer is too small or large! Please do save the date in your diaries. For further information, tickets or to offer promises and pledges, please contact Ian Pocock on 07973 225140 or ian.pocock@projectharlequin.com
