There's an excellent rail service between Westbury and Bristol Templemeads, stopping at Freshford, giving residents good access to Bath, Bradford on Avon and Trowbridge.  Onward connections to London and the wider rail network are available via Bath and Westbury. Freshford is on the 'Heart of Wessex' line which follows a beautiful 87 mile route through Dorset, Somerset, Wiltshire, Bath and Bristol.

Bus route no. 94 offers a regular service Monday to Friday between Trowbridge and Bath via Freshford. This service is run by Libra Travel Ltd., Buckland Dinham, Frome - tel 01373 812255 - who should be contacted direct with any enquiries.

There is also a route 95/96 service operating between Limpley Stoke, Freshford and Bradford-on-Avon once a week. Full details of this service are available here. The service is operated by Bodmans.

Wiltshire County Council operates a Hopper service to Bath Royal United Hospital. This service operates door-to-door, but must be pre-booked at least two days in advance.


The closest cycle link to Freshford is NCN4, which runs between south Wales and London. It is an eight mile journey into Bath following this route, which runs along the Kennet and Avon canal towpath. The Two Tunnels project has created an alternative route into Bath from the south through the railway tunnels which run under Combe Down.


The nearest airport to Freshford is Bristol, from which flight destinations include the UK and ROI, Europe, Africa and North America. Southampton Airport is also accessible from Freshford using the railway.
