Climate Emergency Community Forum

Overview

The next decade is seen as critical in addressing biodiversity loss and climate change. Freshford Parish Council has declared a Climate Emergency and a Nature Emergency, in line with B&NES and the UK Government.

“Tackling climate change is the one of the most urgent shared endeavours of our lifetimes, demanding bold action from every nation to prevent catastrophic global warming.” UK Business and Energy Secretary and COP26 President Alok Sharma 3rd December 2020 www.gov.uk/news

Now we need to develop a Freshford parish-focussed plan; one that is meaningful, actionable and appropriate to the challenge, and to us and our village. That is why on Thursday, January 28th 2021, 7pm – 9pm Freshford Parish Council (supported by B&NES) will be holding an on-line village forum to discuss the issues and start to develop a shared plan.

The following questionnaire will feed into the forum and ensure:

(I)                  Those who cannot attend the meeting online on the 28th January can input their thoughts and ideas

(II)                Residents thoughts and ideas can be captured in advance of the forum, allowing for:

a.       more detail to be included

b.       help us design the forum and assign break out groups

Climate Emergency Questionnaire

A summary of results from this questionnaire will be shared in advance of the forum and during the session itself.
