Freshford Music and Drama Group


The Group, founded in the 1962, was set up to promote interest and participation in the Dramatic and Musical Arts by presenting public productions and holding meetings. It is open to all Wiltshire and Somerset residents of whatever age: currently members come from Freshford, Limpley Stoke, Hinton Charterhouse, Midford, Norton St. Philip, Westwood, Bradford on Avon, Faulkland, Radstock, Winsley, Southstoke, Westbury, Melksham, Trowbridge and Bath. New members always welcome. Anyone interested in joining please contact the Hon Secretary Jules Lowrie on 01225 722003.

In 2012 the group received a B&NES Chairman's Award of £100 towards the 50th Anniversary celebrations (see below).

Village Family Panto at Freshford Village Memorial Hall

31 Jan & 1 Feb 2013 at 7.30 - bar open from 7.00pm.
2 Feb 2013 at 6.30 - bar open from 6.00pm (times to be confirmed).
3 Feb at 2.30pm "jelly & ice cream" matinee.

The performances were very well attended, and the Group were delighted that the Chairman of B&NES Councillor 
Rob Appleyard came to watch the Saturday show.

50th Anniversary Tea Party

The 50th Anniversary Tea Party took place on 4th November at Hinton Charterhouse Village Hall. The venue was funded from a generous 
grant from Councillor Rob Appleyard, Chair of Bath & North East Somerset Council.

After greetings and viewing the group's albums of the many productions put on over the years, Toasts were drunk to the Group, departed friends, and absent friends. The tea was provided by the members present. The delicious chocolate anniversary cake was made by Jules Lowrie. Peter Jackson performed two recitations and a song accompanied by Tony White.

New Flood Lights



Thanks to a generous grant of £750 from FLiSCA, together with £236 from our reserves, we are buying five new flood lights to replace those which no longer work. 

Jubilee Fresh Factor 2012

The talent show for the local community - open to all. Singers, jugglers, gymnasts, instrumentalists - whatever you enjoy come along an show it off to family friends and locals. Organised by Jules Lowrie at juleslowrie@hotmail.com or tel: 01225 722003.

Will Ronnie gain Goldilocks’ love?
