Mary Payne, winner of Chelsea and Hampton Court Gold Medals, will bring some Winter garden magic to Freshford, supported by wine and nibbles on our last meeting before Christmas.

Mankind is dependent on plants for everything from food to film,painkillers to paint.   Our exploitation of plants must somehow keep pace with the demands of increasing global populations.

ROBERT HARVEY Tracing the development of his Wiltshire garden, Robert discusses the practical and aesthetic principles that give structure and unity to formal lawns and borders, wildflowers and ponds, trees, fruit and vegetables.

NEIL LOVESEY of Picket Lane Nursery, S Perrott, will offer tips on how to get the best from your plants throughout the year.
