Work at Freshford School crossroads put on hold

posted 20 Feb 2015, 08:57 by Parish Council Communications
B&NES have notified us that they will be stopping work at Freshford Lane, once the pedestrian footway sections and drainage work have been completed, due to their being unable to settle an objection in relation to the construction of the speed table.

B&NES have done all they can to try to meet the concerns of an objector who lives adjacent to the works but a legal representative has now been instructed on behalf of the resident to investigate the matter further in an attempt to prevent the table from being implemented.

B&NES must now take the resident's objection through the single member decision process (following the Council's democratic process) which can take 4-6 weeks to complete.  B&NES will therefore complete the new footway sections as well as new drainage system so that the road can then be reopened next week but the rest of the work will be put on hold until they have a decision as to whether the table can then be implemented.
