Freshford and District Horticultural Society - December meeting and new programme

posted 25 Nov 2014, 01:48 by Parish Council Communications
At 7.30 pm on Tuesday 2nd December, Jane Moore of The Bath Priory will be coming to Freshford Village Memorial Hall to give a talk about The Colours of Spring, including information about Spring bulbs and seasonal plants to give your garden a lift in the early months of the year; naturalising bulbs, good planting combinations, ideas for pots and containers, planting tips and suppliers.

Jane joined The Bath Priory as Head Gardener in March 2003, bringing her trademark passion, enthusiasm and experience to the hotel’s four acres of walled gardens. Jane has received many accolades including a Chelsea Flower Show Silver Medal in 2003 and the British Garden Writers’ Guild ‘Journalist of the Year’ in 2007.  When she is not at The Bath Priory, Jane tends her own garden and allotment, writes regularly for BBC Gardeners’ World magazine, The Times and The Guardian. Jane also researches and presents television programmes and is a regular panellist at gardening events.

As it is the last meeting before Christmas there will be the added bonus of mulled wine and mince pies to help us through, courtesy of the committee.  All welcome - Members free, visitors just £2.00.

From January next year, meetings will take place on the first Wednesday of the month - same time, same place and we hope this will enable some, who have other commitments on a Tuesday, to attend in future.

The programme for 2015 is now published and can be seen here on the FreshfordVillage.com website.
