Please note that there will not be a meeting of the Freshford & District Horticultural Society on 3rd January 2017. The next meeting will be on 11th January when Tania Pascoe will talk about Wild Garden Weekends. A former corporate sustainability consultant, Tania, a passionate gardener who lives locally, set out on a journey across Britain to rediscover the magical butterfly filled memories of her childhood. Her book: ‘Wild Garden Weekends’, the first guidebook of its kind, was published in 2015. Tania will tell us about the traditional cottage gardens and ancient orchards, kitchen-gardens and contemporary gardens planted for bees and wildlife which she discovered during the course of her research. She will also speak about wildflower-rich meadows grasslands and woodlands, of which only a fragment remain but which need our appreciation and support as never before. And she will also share her experiences of trying to bring in the lessons she has learned into her garden at the Old Doctors House, Freshford. Members free Visitors £3.00 Everyone welcome |
