Could you help to run Freshford and Limpley Stoke's Summer Fête this year?

posted 22 Mar 2014, 09:50 by Parish Council Communications
Every year, the Summer Fête is a huge success, a great opportunity for the young and not so young to come together for an afternoon of enjoyment, while raising valuable funds for the two village halls and other community projects.  Even the weather is usually kind to us.

This year, though, could be an exception - unless some public-spirited people come forward to help run the event.

Would you be prepared to volunteer?  We’re looking for eight or nine people to form a Fête committee, one of whom would be Chair.  The commitment is not open-ended.  You would be enjoyably busy in the run-up to the Fête – projected date 14th June – but when it is finished you can relax and look back on what you have helped to achieve.

This year’s committee would not be starting from scratch, of course.  Much of what needs organising will be exactly the same as last year – and there’s a full file and a ‘to do’ list for the new committee to work from.

What helps make our community so special is the large number of residents who are prepared to get involved and help make things happen for the benefit of us all.  Might our Fête be something you could consider lending a hand with?

To volunteer, or just to find out more, please contact Martin Walker by email at

Thank you.
