CONSTRUCTION OF RAISED SPEED TABLE, HIGH STREET, FRESHFORD

posted 8 Jan 2015, 02:34 by Parish Council Communications
Below is statutory notice of B&NES’s intention to create a speed-reducing table at the cross roads by the school.  Although this falls short of what the Parish Council and Primary School have been striving for over several years it is the best that B&NES’s limited budget can afford and the PC agreed at its meeting on 8th December 2104 that for the future safety of all that use this crossing – pedestrians, cyclists and vehicles - it should be supported.

NOTICE is given that Bath and North East Somerset Council in exercise of the powers conferred by section 90A of the Highways Act 1980 ('the Act') and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the chief officer of police in accordance with section 90C(1) of the Act and those bodies or persons prescribed by the Highways (Road Humps) Regulations 1999 ('the Regulations') and in accordance with section 90C(2) of the Act intends to construct a raised speed table in High Street, Freshford, at its junction with Freshford Lane, New Road and Dark Lane.

The speed table will be subject to the tolerances permitted in the regulations.

A copy of the plan together with a statement of reasons may be inspected, free of charge, at The One Stop Shops at Manvers Street, Bath; at The Hollies, Midsomer Norton and at Keynsham Civic Centre, Market Walk, Keynsham during normal office hours.

Objections and representations with respect to the proposal, together with the grounds on which they are made must be sent by 2nd February 2015 either in writing to the Traffic Management Team at the address below, or by email to transportation@bathnes.gov.uk.  Please quote the title of the scheme; Construction of Speed Table, High Street, Freshford, and the reference PEV10594/AC.   For any queries concerning this proposal please telephone 01225 394208. Please note that all representations received may be considered in public by the Council and that the substance of any representation together with the name and address of the person making it, could become available for public inspection.
