A36 night-time closure - Friday 8th March, Monday 11th to Thursday 14th March

posted 6 Mar 2013, 00:29 by Parish Council Communications   [ updated 6 Mar 2013, 00:30 ]

Atkins-Skanska, working on behalf of the Highways Agency, intends to start work in our area in the near future. They will be resurfacing the A 36 from Brassknocker Hill north for approximately ½ mile towards Claverton.

This work will be undertaken on Friday 8th  March, Monday 11th to Thursday 14th March and will last for  4 nights, weather permitting.

The road width and type of works dictate that, to ensure the safety of both the travelling public and the workforce, it will be necessary to close the A 36 to through traffic between Bath and Warminster. During the works the road will be closed between 8.00pm and 6.00 am.

Vehicular access for residents will be extremely limited due to the nature of the work and size of machinery to be used. Should you require any assistance with access or egress to your property please speak to the operatives on site who will assist in any way they can. Please allow extra time for any journeys that you need to make.

A signed diversion route from the M4 will be in place, with southbound traffic diverted from Bath taking the A4 to Chippenham, then the A350 south to Warminster and re-joining the A36. Traffic travelling northbound, towards Bath, will follow the same diversion route as above in reverse.
